Position Summary:
The Research Assistant will work with in a creative and diverse Technical department in continued efforts to improve processes and equipment for optimum production output and product quality. The work is project-based with a responsibility to provide meaningful data, conclusions, and recommendations for process improvements.
Hours:
Base work schedule is Monday thru Friday, 8 am - 4:30 pm with overtime as needed for business necessity. Evenings and weekends may be necessary on occasion due to project needs.

Position Requirements:
- Associates degree in relevant area of science (chemistry, biomedical, biotechnology, etc) required; bachelor's degree preferred.

General Job Duties:
- Overall research and development targeted at process improvements and project development
- Collection, entry, maintenance, analysis, reporting, and presentation of technical data as required for projects
- Analyze data, make calculations, forecast trends, and develop conclusions
- Pull samples, make accurate dilutions and microscopic examinations, test and analyze products and samples, conduct assay testing, measure critical parameters, such as iron, chemical, ammonia, OD, pH, viscosity, and calibration
- Create, maintain, and revise SOP's and deviations as required
- Conduct pilot testing for new products or processes
- Regular and accurate collection and reporting of data

PRODUCTION (PLANT) TECHNICIAN

Position Summary:
Entry level operators can begin in packaging or production fermentation or extraction field operations based on experience and business needs at time of hiring. Operators will run equipment and perform tasks as per SOP’s and production needs.
Hours:
Base work schedule is a 12-hour shift rotation, working 2 weeks of days then 2 weeks of nights, 36-hour week followed by 48-hour week, averaging only 14 days per month.
Starting wage will range from $20.91 - $24.13 depending on position, with an increase after 90 days of successful performance, paid weekly. General Job Duties (dependent on position):
- Responsible for operation of all drumming and supersack packing equipment, working within quality requirements, including data recording, filling, sampling, labeling, wrapping, and loading final products.
- Field operation positions are responsible for coordination of activities between the control room and field operations, including but not limited to tank entry, data collection, CIP’s, equipment adjustments for maximum production output.
- General tasks include data recording, filling drums or supersacks, tank entry, equipment operations, sample collection, cleaning, etc.
- Basic equipment maintenance as necessary to keep production running and reduce/eliminate downtime.
Environmental Demands
Able to hear and respond to the overhead paging and alarm system; available for overtime and call-ins as needed. Production facility is subject to extremes in temperature and loud machinery noises which requires hearing protection. Some regular work in high places and confined spaces. Various chemical products used in working areas and in facility.

QC LAB ANALYST

Position Summary:
QC Lab Analyst is responsible for performing routine analysis and testing using wet chemistry and sterile techniques. Responsible for accurate make-up of reagents, standards, and trace ingredients; collection and recording of data; microbial testing; use of industrial lab equipment. Position is responsible for cGMP, HACCP, ISO and other strict quality and safety guidelines.
Hours:
Position starts on 8-hour days for training purposes; will transition to 12-hour rotating shift position with potential for overtime. Rotation is 2 weeks on days, then 2 weeks on nights, rotating a 36-hour week and 48-hour week.

Position Requirements:
- Associate's degree or qualifying Bachelor-level credits in a science discipline with relevant coursework in chemistry and organic chemistry

- Proven ability to work independently and to prioritize tasks
- Strong desire to achieve goals and collaborate with other departments to improve processes for optimum production.

General Job Duties:
- Routine wet chemistry testing on samples, raw materials, in-process, and finished products using ASTM standards and lab equipment such as HPLC, autoclave, TLC, glucose analyzer, pH meter, sonicator, spectrophotometer, glassware, centrifuges, FTIR, etc.
- Maintain testing results as per SOP’s and quality certification regulations
- Maintain lab inventory, reagents, standards, sample retains, trace ingredients
- Maintain equipment as required by SOP’s
Physical Demands:
Ability to work efficiently unsupervised for prolonged periods; able to remain in stationary position while conducting tests. Must be able to move long distances between buildings, occasionally ascend/descend stairs, ladders, or work atop platforms 20% of time. Occasionally move or position objects and/or boxes up to 50 pounds to various areas. Must be able to detect overhead paging and alarm systems with ability to express oneself and exchange information professionally.

MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

Position Summary:
Maintenance Technician is a team member responsible for the maintenance and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, production equipment including tanks, pits, buildings, and facility issues.
Hours:
Base work schedule is Monday thru Friday, 7 am - 3:30 pm with overtime as needed for business necessity. Evenings and weekends may be necessary due to business needs. Will carry pager about one weekend per month.

Position Requirements:
- Minimum two years industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing environment.
- Experience in pneumatic, hydraulic, air pressure systems, welding required; basic electrical and robotics strongly preferred.
- Experience working with CMMS database system strongly preferred.
- Experience in food grade or pharmaceutical grade industrial facility strongly preferred.
- Strong mathematical, creative problem solving and technical reasoning skills required.

General Job Duties:
- Perform repairs on manufacturing equipment as per work orders, using strict quality requirements
- Perform predictive maintenance as per schedule, including vibration analysis, steam trap analysis and reporting/maintaining results in history log
- Centrifugal pump repair including mechanical seal rebuild and installation
- Shaft to shaft alignment using both dial indicators and laser alignment
- Overhead rigging and equipment removal/installation
- Maintain data for work orders into CMMS database system.
- Installation of equipment, piping, valves, etc as needed for operation
- Operate equipment as necessary to complete work order, including overhead crane, bucket lift, forklift, Genie Lift, etc.
- Make constructive and creative suggestions for improvements and cost savings.
